Grande Spirit Foundation opens new 26-unit seniors housing apartment in Spirit River

New senior apartments in Spirit River are officially open.

The Grande Spirit Foundation held a grand opening ceremony Friday to celebrate the opening of a new 26-unit seniors’ apartment designed to provide safe, modern and affordable housing for seniors in the Peace Region.

We are thrilled to introduce this upcoming Seniors Apartment to the community. Our mission is to create a nurturing and empowering environment for seniors, where they can enjoy the freedom of independent living while having access to a next steps supportive community with an abundance of amenities. Grande Spirit Foundation is committed to promoting active aging, fostering social connections, and inviting residents to embrace a fulfilling and purposeful lifestyle. Judy Kokotilo-Bekkerus, Chairperson for Grande Spirit Foundation.

This building represents more than bricks and mortar – it’s about home, security, and community. We are deeply grateful to CMHC and our municipal partners for their vision and support in bringing this project to life. Steve Madden, Grande Spirit Foundation Chief Administrative Officer

This project was made possible through generous funding contributions from the Government of Canada’s National Housing Strategy Affordable Housing Fund, Saddle Hills County, the Municipal District of Spirit River, the Town of Spirit River, the Village of Rycroft, and Birch Hills County.
